TPS2595: Thermal question

Hi,

We need the thermal resistance information for the TPS2595 component for thermal simulations.

I've seen Rjc = 73.3℃/W and Rja = 65.6℃/W in the datasheet. However, according to the formula Rja = Rjc + Rca, and Rca > 0,

theoretically Rjc should be less than Rja. Could you please help confirm if these data need to be updated?

    Hi Jeff,

    Rjc(top) is 73.3C/W and Rjc(bot) is 9.8C/W. So, the effective thermal resistance of junction to case will be much lower than 73.3C/W. There is no error in the datasheet. I hope this clarifies why Rca is not negative here in the device.
