LMZM23600: IBB configuration explanations

Part Number: LMZM23600

Tool/software:

Hello,

We intend to use the component in IBB configuration and I have a few questions:

  • It is stated in the datasheet that the feedback resistors sum must be below 100kOhm. However, in the IBB pspice simulation, the resistors sum is way higher than that.
Does it mean there are specificities in that configuration ? Our goal is to generate a -15V from a 15V, so I was targeting a 49.9k and a 3.57k.
  • In the application note, you state that a schottky diode should be put, do you have any suggested part or constraint for part selection ?

Best regards,

Clément

  • Hi,

Any feedback on this question ?

    Thank you,

    Clément

  • Hi Clement,

Apologies for not getting to this sooner.

The feedback resistor requirement is only for output voltages less than the value of 3V. As your output voltage setpoint is above, your value should be ok. Either way, you are using resistors less than 100kOhm, so you should be ok there as well.

In terms of the schottky diode, it is only used to prevent the current from the bypass capacitor to enter the low side body diode of the device and inductor. You just need to make sure your schottky voltage rating is above your output voltage and has a current rating greater than the output of the device. 1-2A should be fine.

    Thank you,

    Joshua Austria
