BQ76952: Not communicating with MCU.

Part Number: BQ76952
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

I tried to communicate a MCU with AFE (BQ7695202). AFE is NOT communicating. I feel AFE went to sleep/deep sleep/ shutdown mode. Could you please help me to resolve this issue?

  • Hi Sunil,

AFE can communicate with MCU during sleep and deep sleep mode. You can check the REG18 voltage to see if your device is in shutdown mode. Also, follow this FAQ to check if your device is in TS2 soft shutdown mode -- What is the Soft SHUTDOWN state?

If you also cannot communicate with AFE when the REG18 has stable 1.8V voltage, you need debug from I2C side:

    1. Check if your MCU support clock stretching
    2. Check the I2C command log to see if you send the correct commands. You can use EV2400 as reference
    3. Check your hardware to see if you have wrong connections/designs

    BRs
