I have a question regarding unexpected behavior that happen while charging and discharging a 3S LiFePo4 battery pack monitored by bq76920 evm using bq25798 evm.
On start up bq76920 by default does not turn on its charge and discharge mosfet. However, the battery pack is still being charged or discharged while the mosfets are off with bq25798 evm connected to the battery monitor to charge or discharge the battery, somehow bypassing the control mosfets which are turned off in testing.
Meanwhile when bq76920 evm is connected directly to a bench power supply to charge the battery pack or an electronic load to discharge the battery pack, the bq76920 evm works as expected when the mosfets being used.
I have checked all voltage level on the mosfet and all seems to be working properly, but somehow the charger bq25798 evm bypassed the mosfet. I cannot figure out what is causing this unexpected behavior.
