We do not have any DP to HDMI converters. The DP139 only works with DP++ to HDMI.

DP++ is an additional feature defined in the dual mode specification that allows for the DisplayPort lanes to send AC coupled HDMI across a DisplayPort cable. This not the same as DisplayPort as the protocol is HDMI and the signal is simply AC coupled to be sent across the DisplayPort phy. 

For receiving a USB-C signal and splitting the signal to its USB and DP components, the TUSB1064/ TUSB564 will work best.

Hi, the only thing that is suspicious about the TPS25751 now is that there are no SBU pins, on the TPS65982 these pins are present. For the TUSB1064/TPS25751 pair, will the communication training be done through the TUSB1064?
The device will work in One Port USB 3.1 + 2 Lane DP or 4 Lane DP.

Yes, if the PD controller does not have any AUX pins you will send the AUX signal through the TUSB1064. I looked further into the datasheet to confirm and the TPS25751 may not work for DP at mode. The reason I suggested this part is because we have used it predecessor for one of our DP at mode EVMs, but they have removed this functionality for the newer part.

If you are ok with using a part that is not recommended for new designs then I recommend the TPS65987D. We have used this part for DP alt mode before

But there is nothing in the datasheet for the TPS65987 about external EEPROM. What is the GPO configuration process for TPS65987, TPS65986?

Please tell me, in this variant will work in a pair TUSB1064/TPS25751, if I set TUSB1064 with pull-ups to 4 Lane DP mode, and take from the connector type C only USB2, which I will use for other peripherals. Will I be able to configure the TPS25751 to control the FLIP output?

Hi, but I asked can I customize the TUSB1064 via pull up resistors? if I only use 4 Lane DP, no USB3.0. And then I can use the USB PD without Alt mode? e2e.ti.com/.../tusb1064-output-of-tusb1064 was used that way in the discussion here.

The TPS25751 does not support DP alt mode.

It can indicate the cable orientation/flip, but does not support DP so will not fit this system's requirements.

As far as I know, you cannot use DP with Type-C without negotiating DP alt mode.

Yes it is true, but as far as I know, in this mode then I do not need TUSB1064, and I can immediately use something like MCDP2900 DP to HDMI and here without coordination through the PD controller will not work. But if TUSB1064 can take USB3 TX1/RX1, and make a DP diff pairs output, then Alt mode is not required to be matched as I understand. But here we won't be able to switch to USB3 and DP at the same time, and there are also doubts about using 4 diff pairs of USB Type C.

You have to use a PD controller in order to communicate to the host that a type-C port can be used for DP signaling via DP alt mode. There needs to be a PD controller on both sides of the system (Host and Sink) in order to communicate when DP-Alt mode is being used, as well as to communicate number of DP lanes, and cable orientation.

If you are looking at using the TUSB1064 for muxing four DP lanes specifically with no chance of using USB3 signals, while it is possible, I would not recommend using this device for that application. There are different ways these DP signals can be routed through this device, which is typically controlled via a PD controller.

In both cases of only USB functionality or Type-C DP Alt mode functionality, I would recommend using a PD controller to help ensure there are no issues in this process.

If I misunderstood your questions, or if you have any additional questions, it may be more helpful on my side if you could provide a diagram or something similar to help illustrate the type of application you had in mind.

Hi, Why don't you recommend using TUSB1064 in this case, even with PD Alt mode? And what can you recommend? USB3 is a bonus for us, USB2 will generally suffice.

If you plan on using a PD controller to ensure proper functionality of the TUSB1064, then I would recommend it, yes. However, if you don't plan on using a PD controller (which was how I interpreted the question), then I would not recommend it.

If you could help clarify whether you intend on using a PD controller with a TUSB1064, or if you are looking for ways to use the TUSB1064 without a PD controller, and how you would expect to do that, I would appreciate it.

Hi, we want to use TUSB1064 with PD controller, but you can't recommend a PD controller to use right now. So we are left to use the TPS65987D or look for other options. It's not so simple with other options.
