Hi,

1. The customer is looking for a solution for a 7-cell battery (series). The customer already has experience using the BQ40Z80, but are there any application circuit examples (documents) for using the BQ40Z80 with a 7-cell battery?

2. In addition to the BQ40Z80, the customer has already found the BQ41Z90 on TI.com, but it is over-specified for a 7-cell battery, so are there any other optimal devices?

    Hello Yuta,

    1- The BQ40Z80 used to be able to support 7-cells in series however due to bugs we saw with this amount of cells in series we heavily recommend to only use this with 2s to 6s, along with not support BingQ40z80 products with 7 cell in series battery packs.

    2-The most optimal device for 7 cells battery would indeed be the BQ41Z90 battery gauge.
