TPS922051: Inductor selection

The definition of IL(max) and IL(peak) is not 100% clear in the datasheet. Do you have any images that might help explain this in more detail please?

Also, what inductor value would you recommend for:

Vin = 24V

VLED = 17.1V

Fsw = 2 MHz

ILED = 1.1A

Dear Darren,

Here IL(max) refers to the inductor max average current. For TPS922051 Buck configuration, it refers to the max LED output current (fullscale LED current set by Rsense).

Thus for your application, Vin=24V, VLED=17.1V, Fsw=2MHz, ILED=1.1A, we would recommend 6.8uH inductor.
