LMG1020: Use this device to commute a LED

Part Number: LMG1020

Tool/software:

Hello,

I would like to know if we can use LMG1020 combine with a  BGA-type GaN FET  to commute a LED such as

https://ams-osram.com/products/leds/color-leds/osram-osram-ostar-projection-power-le-b-p0mq with a 6 A pulse at 1 nano second?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Regards

  • Hello,

Yes the LMG1020 is capable of driving GaNFETs in the nanosecond range but the minimum input pulse width is 1ns and the rise and fall time needs to be considered. Exactly 1 nanosecond may not be possible with LMG1020.

The current through the LED depends on the external GaNFET.

    Thanks,

    Walter
