Hello,

Regarding the TPS923653:
Can the internal LDO be used to power external low-power circuits, as long as the current stays below the limit stated in the datasheet?

Also, out of curiosity — why is the TPS923655 rated for a higher current than the TPS923653, even though they share the same package and internal MOSFET R_DS(on)? What is the difference between them? Is the TPS923655 more efficient?

    Dear Sir,

    It can but pls pay attention to the LED output current limit:

    The main difference is that TPS923655 switching FET current limit is 6.5A typical while TPS923653 switching FET current limit is 3A. If you are working with same full scale LED current for both of them, not obvious difference of the efficiency. However, if you look at TPS923653 and TPS923651, they both support 2A current rating, but Rdson is 300mohm and 150ohm. For these two devices, there will be difference for the conduction loss.
