TPS61500: Design for 24V 400mA backlight driver.

Tool/software:

I am currently checking if the TPS61500 is compatible for our use-case where we want to drive a backlight which needs 24V and shall draw 400mA total. (4 strings of 8 series LED's)

The input for the TPS61500 shall be 12V.

According to my calculations, with the formulas of the datasheet the calculated maximum LED current should be around 1.418A which means it should be capable. Could this please be verified?

    Hi AIO,

    With 24V LED and 400mA current, the total output power is 9.6W. Considering 90% efficiency, the input current needed is 9.6/90%/12=0.9A. The current limit of TPS61500 is 3A, so yes this device is suitable for your application.
