BQ25308: BQ25308RTER Charging termination current inquiry

Part Number: BQ25308

Tool/software:

Hi, TI expert

There is a question about the charging termination current of BQ25308RTER from a customer.

The customer applied BQ25308RTER and conducted a test.

- Battery specifications: 3.7V / 2300mhA

1. Battery starting voltage: 3.634V
2. Charging current: 1A
3. Charging termination current: 100mA
- 10% of charging current

4. Charging time: approximately 4 hours
- Start: 14H00M
- End (100mA): 17H53M

Since the current charging current is 1A, I applied RICHG=40.2KΩ recommended on the datasheet.

However, since the charging time takes approximately 4 hours, I would like to shorten it further.

In order to shorten the charging time, is there any way to reduce the charging termination current from the current 100mA to around 230mA?

If the charging current (ICHG) is 1A, but the RICHG value is not 40.2KΩ, but 23.2KΩ or a lower value, will there be a problem?

Please check. Thank you.
