Hi,
I have an application where I need to use 4x 8S batteries and boost their voltage up to 48V, at a maximum power of 1kW. Additionally, the system needs to be able to achieve 1kW output with minimum of two batteries connected. I was considering paralleling two LM5171 devices, having a battery connected to each phase, with a maximum boost output power of 500W per phase. My questions are the following:
1. Does the LM5171 perform current sharing or power sharing (will it balance the current from each battery or is this proportional to the battery voltage)?
2. Can current sharing also be achieved between multiple LM5171 devices?
3. Are there any application notes which can help in my design?
