TPS2H160-Q1: PWM capability of TPS2H160-Q1at 5V

Part Number: TPS2H160-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear team,

We are planning to use TPS2H160-Q1 for 5V HSD application. From the datasheet I understood that it can be used for 5V application since Vsup_min = 4V.

But our application asks for 300Hz PWM at 5V input voltage. Whether this IC is capable of handling PWM at 5V and what is the maximum PWM frequency recommended at 5V?

I request your feedback on priority for this.

Thank you!

  • Hi Ashwaththi,

As long as the device is fully powered with VS being in the defined operating range, the device can PWM. The max PWM frequency is 2kHz with a 50% duty cycle. Please make sure that the device has enough time to fully turn on and turn off while considering delay times; thermal dissipation due to factors like board layout and switching loss also play a role so make sure the device does not go into thermal shutdown.

    Best Regards,
