TPS281C100: FAULT pin: floatend or pull up resistor

Hello,
during a schematic review, a colleague noticed a minor discrepancy in the datasheet.

In Table 5-2 (Connections for Optional Pins), it is stated that the !FAULT pin can be left floating if not used.

However, in the layout suggestion shown in Figure 9-4 (DNT Layout Without a GND Network), a pull-up resistor is placed on the !FAULT pin, even though the pin appears to be unused.

This raised the following question among us:
Is it advisable to place a pull-up resistor on the !FAULT pin to minimize EMC issues with the chip, or does a pull-up resistor have no impact on the internal function and stability?
