Hi,

I have a question about BQ27426 and BQ27Z558.

If a shunt resistor is connected to the high side as shown in the diagram below, the charge and discharge current will flow through the shunt resistor. Am I correct in understanding that the parameters obtained from the shunt resistor are not affected by the direction of the charge and discharge current?

  • Hello Yuta,

    Your understanding is correct, we want the sense resistor to be in the path of the load due to sense the current of the pack. The sensing of the current doesn't matter if it is charging or discharging it will sense the flow either direction.
