TPS25763-Q1: DP Alt Mode sink data configuration?

Hi expert,

I am looking for a power delivery controller which supports Power Delivery PPS, DP Alt Mode negotiation for sink mode. I like the TPS25763-Q1 with DC/DC, but it only supports DP Alt Mode sink.

The question is if TPS25763-Q1 can be configured to support DP Alt Mode sink data? If not, what other offerings do you have?

Hi McKenna,

The TPS25763-Q1 supports the DisplayPort alternate mode as a DP sink.

Hi McKenna,

Please check 8.3.12.1 General GPIO in the datasheet of TPS25763. Table 8-7. DP Alternate Mode GPIO Control may also be helpful. They are on page 59.

Unfortunately 763 can not do a DP source, and we don't have any candidate for such a requirement.

Gotcha.

Do you know why there is such a limitation in place? Why would the PD controller care if the data is DP Alt Mode is source or sink?

Do you have any other PD controllers (TCPM or TCPC) that will negotiate DP Alt Mode source and also supports PPS?

Thanks for your patience.

1. I feel it's mainly because the requirement of managing MUX/VDM and the compliance.

2. I don't think we have such a product for automotive application. If you are looking for non-auto application please check with the USB team for more information.
