TPSI3052-Q1: Connect 2 IGBTs in one device

Part Number: TPSI3052-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSI3100, TPSI3100-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear TI experts,

Can TPSI2052-Q1 connect 2 IGBTs and control it like the block diagram below?

If not, Could you recommend other devices which can connect and control 2 IGBTs?

Please check this issue. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hello Chase,

Thanks for reaching out to our team on E2E! Yes, TPSI305x will work fine for controlling IGBTs. But I would recommend looking at our newest generation TPSI3100 family, specifically the TPSI3133, which is designed for DESAT to help protect your IGBTs. If you are unfamiliar with DESAT, it is basically a way to implement overcurrent protection by monitoring the IGBT VCE. You can read more about implementing DESAT protection with TPSI3133 in the article here. Blush

  • Dear Tilden,

    Thank you for your support.

Yes I understand TPSI305X and TPSI3100 family are suitable for controlling 2 IGBTs.

And I saw that TPSI3100-Q1 is in active state but TPSI3133-Q1 is not seen in TI.com. Do you have any plan of releasing TPSI3133-Q1?

    Best regards,

    Chase

  • Hello Chase,

Thanks for your reply. TPSI3133-Q1 should be available in May, it will be an additional orderable part number under the TPSI3100-Q1 product page. Do you have a particular start of project date you need to meet?

    Best regards,

  • Dear Tilden,

    Thank you for your support.

I am discussing this issue with local TI representative. Probably my customer needs EVM and some samples in May.

First I will request to local TI office. and post another thread if I have more question.

    Best regards,

    Chase
