Does TI or anyone have a schematic or APP note that shows this device (TPS7H500X) used as a Boost / Step Up Converter?

I'm looking to do a step up converter that can step up from +3V (or low as possible) and provide +28V / 2 watt output.

Hey James,

Do you have a bias rail available (~5 V +)?
None of our solutions will work from 3 V if you do not have access to a bias rail

If you do have a bias rail:

The best resource we will have for you is likely the TPS7H5020-SEP EVM

It is very similar to the TPS7H5001-SP except it has the driver integrated to it.

Hi Daniel. I might be able to work with a 5V rail.

Question: With a 5V rail, can the TPS7H5020EVM be modified to provide 28VDC output at.4 to .5 amps ?

Hey James,

If you have access to a bias rail, the power input that gets boosted up can really be whatever voltage you want.

The FET that is used for the design might get quite hot for what you are asking.
I imagine many of the passives may have to change.
Voltage ratings of things will need to be respected.

You are free to do what you want with the EVM, though it will be at your own risk.
