BQ25672: STATUS LED NOT BLINK 1HZ, BLINK RANDOM.

Tool/software:

The charging voltage is not a constant 4.2v when the battery is not plugged in. It is constantly changing and this affects the status LED. The status LED blinks at random intervals.

1-What could be the reason?

2- Is this normal when the battery is not installed?

Hi eyupcakar,

With no battery installed and charge enabled due to CE pin and bit and no TS fault due to missing thermistor, the charger cycles between charging, terminating and recharge. This causes the STAT pin to blink.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer. The datasheet says status LED flashes at 1hz but it flashes randomly at different time intervals.

The 1Hz STAT flashing is from a continuous fault. Cycling in and out of charge is not a fault. The STAT pin turns off when charge terminates and turns back on when charge restarts.
