TPS7A8101-Q1: Grounding (AGND / DGND)

Part Number: TPS7A8101-Q1

Tool/software:

I'm using TPS7A8101-Q1 from 3.2V to 2.9V for powering an analog rail of an image sensor.

The 3.2V is referred to DGND, and so are the derived voltages, but this 2.9V

2.9V capacitors are connected to AGND.

AGND is isolated from DGND by a resistor.

I wondered about the grounding of that LDO: Should it be connected to DGND or to AGND? both?

How about the GND pad?

To what GND should its input & output capacitors be connected?

And feedback resistor?

Thanks!

  • Hi Gilad,

I would recommend referencing the LDO ground, input capacitor, output capacitor, and feedback divider to AGND. If fast transients are expected on the 2.9V supply, I recommend adding a capacitive connection between the two GND domains near the expected return current path for the supply to the 2.9V regulator (i.e. near where the 3.2V net crosses the ground split).

    Best Regards,

    Alex Davis
