TPS65994AE: TPS65994AE // run IEC EN 62680 tests // not able to run tests for PD 3.0 protocol

Part Number: TPS65994AE

Tool/software:

Team,

Pepper Fuchs/ Aava  is working with a test lab to run IEC EN 62680 tests for their new Ivalo tablet (using TPS65994AE), in order to prove compliance to the EU common charger directive.

However the lab is not able to run tests for PD 3.0 protocol even if we define it in the VIF file. According to the test lab: “The PD version of the EUT VIF is too low, 3117 (this version can no longer pass the PD certification), it is recommended to modify the VIF to set the PD version to a newer version. They also contacted the test equipment manufacturer and they said that the tester will validate as per latest specification (PD 3.2 currently).

However, TPS65994AE only supports up to PD 3.0 protocol and the test therefore fails.

Do you have any insight on how Pepperl could pass the 62680 test, or ultimately, prove the compliance to the EU common charger directive with a device using TPS65994AE?

Best regards

Manuel
