BQ40Z50-R2: RSoC locked at 99-100%

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50

Tool/software:

Hello TI-Forum,

our BQ40z50 of our prototype board was working fine up until a few weeks ago.

We have a 20 Watts solar panel connected to our system and a constant load of 2 Watts and usually the RSoC drops from 100% to around 80% during the night time. (see image):

Then starting on April 15th the SoC began to not consistently drop to 80% during the night, but only to 90%.

The confusing thing is that the SoC began to drop only late at the night at around 3 a.m. whereas the PV-current stopped at around 20 p.m. so we usually see a steady decrease of the SoC beginnging at around 20 p.m.

Most recently the SoC didnt even drop below 99% during the night and only when we unplugged the PV-module the SoC started to decrease:

Here is the respecting Batt current and Power:

I have not logged the register values of the fuel gauge, but only collected the golden image:

Can you please help me understand why the SoC has started to lock in at 99% more and more over the time?

I appreciate the help.

with kind regards,

Constantin
