BQ76907: Is there a delay in current detection when using the CC1 register on the BQ76907?

Part Number: BQ76907

Tool/software:

Hi,

Is there a delay in current detection when using the CC1 register on the BQ76907? In my application, the firmware reads the CC1 register every 250 ms, but we observe a delay of approximately 400 ms between applying a -10A discharge current and the CC1 register reflecting the -10A value.

  • Hi,

    Any update on this?

  • Hi Ferlyn,

You might make sure the device is not in SLEEP mode when you apply the current.  That may result in some additional delay until you see a new CC1 result.  Also, it is possible the CC1 current was being measured starting at T=0 to T=250ms, for example.  If you changed the current from 0A to 10A at T=125ms, then the result reported at T=250ms would be ~ 5A, since CC1 is effectively averaging the current across the 250ms window.  Then the next CC1 measurement over T=250ms to T=500ms would report at value of 10A at T=500ms.  Is it possible this is what you are seeing?

    Thanks,

    Terry
