TPS7B7702-Q1: TPS7B7702-Q1 Short circuit fault state cannot be restored

Part Number: TPS7B7702-Q1

Tool/software:

It is necessary to detect the fault status of antenna short circuit. After the fault is resolved, it cannot be obtained that the fault has been resolved.
The malfunction and troubleshooting of the antenna are carried out according to the description in the 7.3.3 Short to Battery and Reverse Current Detection section of the chip manual.
1. Perform a short circuit operation first.
2. Release the short circuit operation.
3. Switch to EN PIN status.
4. Confirm whether the fault has been resolved.
The expectation was that after steps 1, 2, and 3, 4 could confirm the resolution of the fault, but the actual result was that 4 did not resolve the fault,
May I ask what other operations are needed to resolve this fault state.

  • Hello,

Since you referred to section 7.3.3, am I correct in assuming that the short test that you performed was a short-to-battery test and not a short-to-ground test?

How long was EN toggled for? I agree that steps 1,2, and 3 should have resolved the fault and the output should start back up, but I wonder if the EN pin was not held low for long enough. It's not specified in the datasheet, but I believe the EN needs to be low for something like 30us ~ 50us to restart the device. Do you have any waveforms you can share to show this behavior?

    Regards,

    Nick
