Hello TI Team,

We are designing a cost-sensitive embedded device powered by a 2S2P Li-ion battery pack (7.4V nominal, 5000mAh total capacity). The system will be powered primarily via a 12V wall adapter, and we need a low-cost charger IC that meets the following requirements:

  • Battery configuration: 2S2P (7.4V, 5000mAh)

  • Input source: 12V wall adapter (primary power input)

  • Power path support: system should operate even while the battery is charging

  • Charge current: up to ~2A or configurable

  • Battery protection: integrated or compatible with external protection circuit

  • Optional: status LEDs (charging/done/fault), I2C/SPI not mandatory

Please recommend suitable TI charger ICs with evaluation modules (EVMs) if available. Cost-effectiveness is important for our application.
