TPS25751: contact with MCU

Part Number: TPS25751

Tool/software:

Hi Ti Team

As shown below

TPS25751D VAC2 net & I²C interface: Should the VAC2 power net and I²C signals be driven directly by MCU GPIOs, or routed over I²C to the charger IC and configured via separate register addresses?

Thanks so much for your reply,

Best regards,

Johnny

  • Hello,

The VAC2, PPHV should not be driven by the MCU GPIO unless the GPIO can support the source requirements for VBUS.

The I2Cc (the little 't' is for target) can be connected to the MCU. The MCU can query and set data in the addresses described in the technical reference manual.

The I2Ct (the little 'c' is for controller) is intended to be connected to the EEPROM and the DCDC part.  The I2C communication is configured automatically based upon the charging device selected in the questionnaire.

    Regards,

    Chris
