TPS274160: Digital Output Protection Design with TPS274160BRLHR

Part Number: TPS274160

Tool/software:

Hello TI experts,

I'm using the TPS274160BRLHR to design four PLC-Type digital outputs 24V, and I have a question about protecting these outputs.

According to TI recommendations, we've included a Cout of 22 nF for each channel. Additionally, considering the worst-case scenario, we've incorporated two protection elements:

  • An SMBJ33CA TVS to limit voltage transients.
  • A DSK310 flyback diode to demagnetize inductive loads connected to the outputs.

Do you consider this protection adequate? Do you recommend any improvements or modifications, especially in scenarios with inductive loads or long cabling?

I appreciate any technical suggestions you may have.

Best regards.
