TPS65220: Need Suggestion on the Power supply design - PMIC

Hi team,

We are using AM6442 processor in our design. For the power supply section we had checked the eval board in which TPS6522053RHBR - PMIC IC is being used.
But for this IC the output current is very less. Please find the below mentioned current requirements and suggest a PMIC for our system.

The requirement is of integrated Buck converters and LDO's.
Buck Converters:
Vin = 2V to 5V ( 3.3 Nominal )
Iout = 3A
Vout = 1V to 2.5V

LDO's:
Vin = 2V to 5V ( 3.3 Nominal )
Iout = 2A
Vout = 0.75V to 2.5V

Kindly consider the above requirements and suggest a PMIC with 3 Buck and 4 LDO's or higher.

HI Jari,

Good to hear that functional safety compliance of PMIC.
Please provide the PMIC part with the previously mentioned Current and voltage requirements. Suggest the part with SIL Complaint, Railway specific or approved parts will be much better.

Also please suggest the non functional safety parts also. That will be very helpful for us to finalize the PMIC. Kindly help in this regard.

Hi Teja,

For non-functional safety PMIC, please take a look at this TPS650864 or use programmable TPS650861 with multi rail outputs. You may need to consider Buck to meet your LDO current requirements.

Hi Teja,

For ASIL-B I would propose to take a look on TPS65224-Q1 (4x BUCK 3xLDO ) and for ASIL-D TPS6594-Q1 (5xBUCK 4xLDO).

Thanks for the response.

The PMIC TPS65224-Q1 is pretty much matching to our requirement. When i refer the datasheet, over the applications section AM6442 Processor support is not mentioned.

Please find the below attached images for your reference.

Please confirm whether we can consider this PMIC for Powering AM6442 or not.
Also provide the complete datasheet as it not available in the TI website.

I think current PDN proposal is using TPS65219/TPS65220 https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slvafe9/slvafe9.pdf but i'm checking internally is there something available.
