LM5033: LM5033 related issues

Part Number: LM5033
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC2808A-2,

Tool/software:

Hello,

The input voltage is 12V, the output power is 50W, and the output voltages are positive and negative 12V/24V/36V. The customer is looking for a PWM controller with push-pull topology, minimum noise, and relatively small common mode capacitance. May I ask if there are any recommended components?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

UCC2808A-2 is another one to consider in addition to LM5033, depending on how much external circuit and what external circuit you want to add in.

  • Hello,

TI has many push-pull controller chips. How to evaluate the noise performance of the chips? The customer sees that TI has multiple product series, each with different functions. For example, synchronous rectification, slope control, active control, soft start, and error amplifier adjustment. May I ask which of these functions have an effect on noise? Or is there a relevant selection guide manual?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

These LM devices are from previously National Semiconductors. UCC2808 series are only series after BiCMOS technology.

You need to define what functions you need then review each part to find a best to fit in terms of features. I do not think one is better than another in terms of noise.

If just push-pull, UCC2808A-2 is the best to select.
