Tool/software:
I am in the process of reviewing an LED current driver design which uses the Pure PWM dimming method for the TPS61500.
On page 13 of the specification, it explicitly states: "Floating the DIMC pin, an external PWM signal via the EN pin, providing pure PWM dimming method."
When I check this through various AI tools (e.g. GROK AI) it says that industry standard practice is to input the PWM signal to the DIMC pin NOT the EN (enable) pin which it says would turn the whole TPS61500 chip on and off which is undesirable for understandable reasons.
It steadfastly maintains that applying the PWM signal to the EN pin is a mistake and says that the specification sheet is likely in error.
So, can an expert from TI tell me once and for all - for the TPS61500, should the PWM signal be applied to the DIMC input or the EN input for pure PWM dimming?
