TPS23882: question of TPS23882 autonomous mode

Part Number: TPS23882

Tool/software:

I am using TPS23882B, which pulls down the AUTO pin and uses the chip's autonomous mode. But it seems that there is no way to keep a certain port in a non powered state for PD devices through the I2C configuration of an external host. May I ask if PSE can control a certain port to not supply power to PD devices through some means after being powered on in autonomous mode?

  • Hi Steve,

AUTO pin needs to be set open/floating to disable the autonomous mode.

If autonomous mode is on (PSE is BT standard compliant), at start up, the port will automatically turn on if it is connected to a valid PD.

    Best regards,

    Diang
