UCC28950: Difference between UCC2895QDWRQ1 and UCC2895x

Tool/software:

I have used UCC2895x for a 2kW DCDC converter project with fixed output 220V. Now I have a new design requirement for 3.5kW variable output (100-200V) power supply. Can I use the same UCC2895x for this where feedback has to provide from a DAC output.

My colleague already designed a variable power supply with UCC2895QDWRQ1. But now the latest designs are found with UCC2895x and Ti is also recommending the same. Can I use UCC2895QDWRQ1 for new designs. What is the obsolescence of UCC2895QDWRQ1?

We highly recommend UCC28951 over UCC2895, unless there is a specific technical reason you need for UCC2895.

Back to your first question, yes, you can use it. The feedback has to come from Vout for regulation, but you can add DAC signal into this loop to change the Vout DC value.

We cannot predict the future at this point. UCC2895x is newer and more widely used so we'd recommend UCC2895x.
