Tool/software:
Hello:
The customer is currently using TI's BQ25886 charging management IC, and there has been an incident of the BAT pin of BQ25886 burning out during the production process. As shown in the following figure
The customer suspected that it was caused by hot plugging of the battery and tested the surge current of the lithium battery during the hot plugging process. During the test, it was found that a 16A/13uS pulse current would be generated at the BAT pin of BQ25886 during the hot plugging process of the lithium battery, as shown in the following figure
Upon checking the data manual of BQ25886, it was found that the BAT pin of the chip has a current tolerance of 8A,
But the specification sheet does not mention the specific pulse time for 8A, which is 8A/10ms? Or 8A/10uS? Therefore, we need TI's help to provide the exact maximum acceptable surge current value and pulse time for the BAT pin of the BQ25886 chip, preferably with its SOA working range curve. Thank you, as the project is urgent, could you please provide this information to the client as soon as possible? Thank you!!!
