BQ51013B: FOD Calibration for BQ51013B – Where to get the reference transmitter or AVID tool?

Hi TI team,

I'm currently working on FOD calibration for a bq51013B receiver, following the SLUA731 application note (“Foreign Object Detection GUI User’s Manual”). The document references a specific calibrated reference transmitter (e.g., from AVID) as a required component for accurate calibration.

Unfortunately, it seems that this reference transmitter is no longer available — the AVID website no longer lists the tool, and the link in the document is dead.

I’ve seen on the E2E forum that TI sometimes provides support for this case via private messages. Could you please let me know:

  1. How to obtain a current equivalent of the calibrated reference transmitter?

  2. Or whether there is an alternative tool or method recommended by TI for using the FOD GUI?

    Yes - Sorry but the AVID tool is no longer available. We have a couple of other options depending on your design and application.
