Hi,

I need a help in Mosfet Drive fet loss calculation sheet. In this sheet, in user input page, line 25- Temperature© for rds(ON) is given. Can you please tell me how I have to take that temperature value or from where i have to take that temperature value for that line.

    Hello Divyaa,

    Thanks again for your interest in TI FETs. The a thermocouple attached to the tab of the FET is usually where temperature measurements are made for a TI FET in D2PAK package. This temperature is used to estimate Rds(on) as it has a positive temperature coefficient as shown in Figure 8 of the datasheet. This will typically be higher than the ambient temperature due to self heating of the FET. If you do not know the temperature or cannot measure it then an estimate can be used.

    Currently we are not able to measure the temperature. Please provide estimate for temperature for rds(on) or normalized on state resistance.

    Hi Divyaa,

    I started at 50°C in the spreadsheet I sent to you. You can easily change this in the spreadsheet to see the effect on the MOSFET conduction loss.
