TPS6594-Q1: When shutdown, SC interrupt detected

Part Number: TPS6594-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team

I shutdown or reset my system, SC interrupt was detected in LDO1 and LDO3.

LDO1/LDO3 used to 1.8V/2.6V.

The level of reproducibility is high.

Since the SC was not detected even after rebooting, we have determined that it is not a malfunction.

It may be that the setting is not good, but what could be the cause?

Is it leakage current to other circuits?

Best regards.

  • Hello Shinji,

Can you please tell me which part number?

When does this error occur, on power up, during runtime, when going into shutdown, more details would be appreciated, and even more if you have oscilloscope captures relating to LDO1/LDO3.

Also please see the below for one of the causes of SC_INT on an LDO resource.

    BR,

    Nicholas McNamara

  • Hi Nicholas,

This error only occurs during shutdown.
As you suggested, it took time for the voltage to drop when the LDO output was turned off, and the residual charge exceeded the threshold.
I was able to resolve the issue by masking the interrupt.

    Thank you.

  • Hello Shinji,

Thank you for the confirmation, what can be done is that a small bleed resistor can be placed on the output net if the discharge isn't going fast enough or as you suggested.

    Have a wonderful day!
