Dear forum members,

I have a question regarding the TPS1214-Q1EVM evaluation module.

I have confirmed that after applying 48V to Vin, it takes approximately 10ms for Vout to appear. Could you please explain the process that causes this 10ms delay? Also, is it possible to change this 10ms timeframe?

Hello Toshihide,

Yes with the EVM the EN pin is tied to the Vin. Before the output gate can turn on the the charge pump must activate and cross the BST-SRC_UVLOR threshold (~7.6v TYP). This takes ~10ms. To avoid this you can pre bias the CBST with Vaux so you do not need to wait for it to charge first.
