Dear Sirs and Madams,

In the BQ25792 datasheet, the initial value of the watchdog timer is set to 40s.

When TPS25751 and BQ25792 are connected and used, will the watchdog timer setting be changed to Disable?

Also, I understand that the watchdog timer count is reset via communication.

In our configuration, we use the TPS25751 4CC task from an external MCU to communicate with the BQ25792 every 7 seconds, but do we have to reset the counter by manipulating WD_RST?

Hi Masashi,

The TPS25751 firmware controls the BQ25792 watchdog timer. I will forward to the PD team but I don't think your host needs to write to any of the BQ25792 registers.

Hi Masashi-san,

Upon boot-up, TPS25751 disables BQ25792/8 watchdog timer, you do not need to have your MCU to keep resetting the WD timer.
