BQ76952: Went into SLEEP unexpectedly. Even though Power Config, SLEEP (Bit 8) was set to 0

Part Number: BQ76952
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400

Tool/software:

Good morning,

We had designed a 4S battery using the BQ76952. It works well.

However, last week we noticed the battery had gone dead and wouldn't charge or discharge. I had kept the CUV at 2.5V.

Upon connecting with the EV2400 we noticed the BQ76952 was in SLEEP mode.

This was surprising. As we were not interested in the SLEEP mode, and had set the SLEEP (Bit 8) in the Power Config Register to be 0. I'm also attaching our config file for reference.

Is there something else that could be triggering the SLEEP mode? How to get away from the SLEEP mode.
