TPS65987DDK: GUI question - creating "Virtual device"

Part Number: TPS65987DDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-050012

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I downloaded TIDA-050012's firmware and opened it with old GUI.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-group/sim-hw-system-design/f/simulation-hardware-system-design-tools-forum/781696/tida-050012-firmware-for-tida-050012?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=TIDA-050012

When you open it, there are multiple windows or Virtual devices (1 to 3).

My understanding is that assigned GPIO's will trigger these virtual devices and update the PDO accordingly.

I am trying to create a similar function from a blank page. How do you create these virtual devices? Can you show us the GUI instructions?

I was able to find I/O config but mapping/demapping "Load App Config 1 Event" did nothing to the Virtual device windows so i assume there is another button to open/close this.

Thanks,

Luke

  • Hi Luke,

You can add virtual devices in the General Settings Page by incrementing the "Number of Configuration Sets".

You also need to configure the App Config Register to match the virtual event desired. These App configs map to the GPIO events.

The Virtual Addresses map to the GPIO events. You can configure the PD controller to send itself a 4CC command on button press/release, this is how the source board works, it loads new tx source caps settings and sends an SSrC to renegotiate the contract.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris
