Hi team,

In the circuit diagram for the TPSM8D6C24EVM-2PH2, the AGND and PGND are not connected, but are they connected inside the module?

Will there be any adverse effects if I connect the AGND and PGND outside the module?

Hi Hirotsugu

Yes AGND and PGND are connected internally on the module. TI recommends to follow the EVM guide lines and user guide

Hi Savith,

The datasheet says it's connected to the thermal pad, but I think that's a remnant of the TPS546D24A.

If AGND and PGND are connected inside the module, is an external connection necessary?

Hi Hirotsugu

Treat both of the pins like a separate pin because there is already connection for AGND to PGND. It's best to follow our EVM layout.

Yes, I have checked the EVM circuit diagram and AGND and PGND are not connected.

Could you please tell me what effect would occur if I were to connect PGND and AGND externally?

AGND and PGND and are already connected, it should have minimal effect even if connected on the board

but it all depends on the layout and how are the impedances and what is the noise coupled and if noise coupled
