BQ35100: Sense Resistor-Free Fuel Gauge ICs for Lithium Thionyl Chloride and Lithium Manganese Dioxide Batteries

Part Number: BQ35100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27427

Tool/software:

I am seeking a fuel gauge IC comparable to the BQ35100, compatible with lithium thionyl chloride and lithium manganese dioxide chemistries, that obviates the need for a sense resistor, similar to the MAX17043 by Maxim. The intended application is charge monitoring for a wireless sensor node powered by Li-SOCl₂ or lithium manganese dioxide batteries.

  • Hi,

The BQ27427 has an internal sense resistor, so this would eliminate the need for an external sense resistor. However, the BQ35100 is designed to gauge non rechargeable batteries such as lithium thionyl chloride and lithium manganese dioxide, and will provide the highest level of gauging accuracy for these chemistries.

    Regards,

    Diego
