Hi Team,

We're looking for an voltage(power) switchover solutions, from 12V and 5V input to single output with seamless(with no significant voltage droop) for the board regulators or with delay for Vin_12V to Vin_5V switch and vice versa. The solution should preferably be fully hardware.

TPS2121 is good option. It has fast switchover also.

Hi Kunal,

The TPS2121 looks good. Since we plan to use a buck-boost regulator after the power mux, what are your thoughts on using an OR-ing diode instead? If that approach works, does TI have any reference designs or application notes for it?

Hi Mukesh,

You can use above option also.

Using integrated solution like PMUX, eFuse , ideal diode controller like LM74700-q1, can be more space saving, power efficient and robust solution.

I am expert related to power switch, so I can better help on questions related to that. ;

Regarding diode reference design please raise a new thread.
