MC34063A: Interter converter

Hi,

Does MC34063A can support Vin12V, Vout = -12V/1A appliction? Is there have any reference design can share to us?

Or any other part can work in this application?

Hello Jeff,

The MC34063A has a switch current limit of up to 1.5A. For a buck-boost converter from 12V to -12V, you need more than 2 times the output current as switch current. This means you would need to use an external transistor as shown in the datasheet: https://www.ti.com/document-viewer/MC34063A/datasheet#application_and_implementation/SLLS6362197

The schematic here shows at the end all components you need, but we do not have a reference design with the external switch.
