Tool/software:
Hello
a battery pack of ours has internally a gateway chip with a USB-C port for charging and to communciate with the PC from one side, and on the other side to communicate with the bq4050.
When connected to the PC to communicate and use our internal battery software, via a USB2 or USB3 ports, it always start charging even if with a minimal current.
We know that this can interfere with the Shutdown sequence, so the battery gateway firmware keep monitoring the SDM bit of Operation Status and when set, it disable the USB-C charging chip to stop charging and complete the shutdown sequence.
We have a problem because most of the time our implementation does not work:
we often do not see the activation of the SDM bit when we send a sequence of two 0x0010 commands with a 1 sec delay between them.
Can you please tell us what exact conditions are implemented to activate the SDM bit in the bq4050 when two commands are sent, so we fine tune our implementation ?
Thanks
Pietro
