LM5164:There is an audible noise in the LM5164 DC/DC converter circuit design

Hi Selim,

Under light load conditions the device starts operating in pulse skipping mode. If the switch node waveform is within audible frequency range, the hissing sound can be heard from inductor. One way to reduce this noise is using the fully shielded inductor.

Hi Nityanand, Thank you for your response. I am currently using the TDK SPM7054VT-680M-D model inductor. Do you have any shielded inductor models you could recommend?

I checked the inductor part number datasheet. It is already shielded inductor. 

You can try to use 100uH or higher value inductor to shift the pulse skipping to different load currents. One thing to note is, you cannot avoid the hissing noise completely from the system.
