When using the BQ27Z561, I performed ESD tests on the battery (8kV contact discharge and 15kV air discharge). After testing, the fuel gauge lifetime data became highly abnormal. Is this expected behavior? If not, what are the possible solutions?

The max temperature reporting could be coming from the ESD shock, also please make sure that you are within range for ESD as well. Also confirm that you these resistor for ESD design to limit transients on the pins during an ESD event.

Hello Elias,
If your testing is not within expected than we can't say that the gauge would perform within a practicable manner. Mostly like what happened is that during testing something within the silicon of the IC was alternated.
