TPS25948: TPS259482 Continuously connects and disconnects.

Good day, 

Due to safety certification, we needed to add protection between our charger and the battery to ensure the battery doesnt charge when the charger output shorts to the input. 

I therefore but the TPS259482 in to act as OV/UV protection.

On three devices, (40 tested so far) we found that the efuse stops functioning as should after a while. 

It fuse would continuously connect and disconnect the battery. 

I've tested SPYGD and it always shows power good. I've also tested the OV and UV but the input never reaches the thresholds to activate the cut-off. 

Any suggestions on what's happening?

    Hi Douglas,

    Do we have any waveforms showing this on/off behavior. Also how long is the wire connecting between the BQ and eFuse device. Is there some wire drop between the BAT pin and the IN pin.

    Good day Arush, 

    I am still waiting for the unit in the field to be returned to me to take these measurements.

    The below screenshot shows the distance between the efuse, using a plane to the charger. The wire to the battery is also 50mm.

    I'm doing more tests to confirm, but it seems that I'm getting similar results when I add a current meter in line with the battery positive.

    Hi Douglas,

    Can you tell me load you are using. If you are using CC load, please switch to CR load. I suspect this can be due to CC load.
