UCC21551-Q1: maximum pulse current ratings

Part Number: UCC21551-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Is there absolute max ratings for the pulsed current for this device at OUTA and OUTB for VDD=15V?

regards,

  • Hi Tsuji-san

Responses will be delayed due to US holiday.

  • Hi Tsuji-san,

    Thanks for your patience.

For peak current, the device is rated for 4A source and 6A sink maximum current.

For operating current, you can refer to the 5.7 Safety Limiting Values specifications and 5.10 Insulation Characteristics Curve that contains safety limiting current values for the device. Exceeding these values will have an effect on performance.

    Hiroki

  • Hello Honda-san,

    Thank you for your response.

It seems 4A source and 5A sink are typical value.

Is there maximum value such like Absolute maximum ratings which impact product reliability if user exceeds its max limit?

    regards,

  • Hi Tsuji-san,

The 4A source and 6A sink currents are the points at which the device saturates.

The current may be able to reach higher values if pushed but it may lead to saturation under corner cases which will lead to increased losses in the gate driver's internal pull-up and pull-down FETs. The design should avoid exceeding these values to prevent this from occurring.

    Hope this is helpful!

    Regards,

    Hiroki
