TPS7B63-Q1: Please review the schematic

Part Number: TPS7B63-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear TI experts,

My custome made a schematic using TPS7B6350-Q1. Could you review this schematic and check some questions?

(Output current is about 170mA, they do not use WD pin.)

1. Please check that if there are any points to fix for better performance.

2. Is it okay to connect to GND for FSEL, WTS, NC, ROSC pins?

3. What should I do If I do not use DELAY, WD, WDO, WD_EN pin? just floating is okay?

4. Is there any required frequency value for right operation? Where can I find it in the datasheet?

Please check these issues. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hey,

Since you're not using the watchdog features of TPS7B63-Q1 it would be easier to use a general purpose LDO, Would you like to explore a replacement ?

  • Dear Vahrony,

    Thank you for your support.

I Think so, but my customer uses same part for different project. And they need watchdog feature in that project. They do not want to use different parts for each project.

So could you check my questions above?

    Best regards,

    Chase

  • Hey,

Thank you for the clarification. Here's the answers to your questions

    1.

    • Input Capacitance: TI recommends adding a 10-μF to 22-μF capacitor with a 0.1 μF ceramic bypass capacitor in parallel at the input to keep the input voltage stable

    2.

    • Yes, it's okay to connect FSEL, WTS, NC, ROSC to ground since the watchdog feature is not being used.

    3.

    • Leaving DELAY, WD, WDO, WD_EN floating is okay. Tying WD_EN to out will disable the watchdog feature.

    4.

There's no specific frequency required for properer regulation .

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks,

    Vahnroy

  • Dear Vahnroy,

    Thank you for your support.

Could you check additional questions from my customer?

    1. it's okay to connect FSEL, WTS, NC, ROSC to ground since the watchdog feature is not being used.

-> directly connect to GND is okay? no pull-down resistor needed?

    2. Leaving DELAY, WD, WDO, WD_EN floating is okay.

-> Is there any issue if I connect these pins connect to GND if not used? My customer want to connect these pins to GND for expanding GND area.

    Please check these issue. Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Chase

  • Hey Chase,

Yes directly to ground is okay for all the pins relating to watchdog. There will be faults on the output of the watchdog but since it's not being used it's fine.

    Thanks,

    Vahnroy
